Kewsi and Nana Ruby Learn to Swim—and you can, too!
Join us for an exciting literary and aquatic adventure where children will first enjoy a reading of Kwesi and Nana Ruby Learn to Swim, one of the featured books of the Beautiful Blackbird Children’s Book Festival. It’s a story about overcoming fears and learning new skills in the water. After the story, each participant will create their own personalized book page featuring themselves as the brave swimmer in their own aquatic tale. The fun continues as children change into their bathing suits and head to the pool with volunteers from Maine Community Swimming to practice real water safety skills and swimming techniques in a safe, supportive environment.

An evening event in which we will hear from individuals whose lives intersect with Casco Bay. We sold out last year, so keep an eye out for ticket information in early 2026!

Tread for Water Ed

Our second annual Tread for Water Ed was a success! 22 people hopped in the pool to tread for one hour, and many others donated to the event helping us raise $4,000. Thank you! Stay tuned for next year’s event in Spring of 2026.
